Maintaining your face painting kit

In order to get the best results, we recommend these basic tips.
  1. When finishing a session, wipe any excess moisture from the surface of the paints and store with the lids on.
  2. Brushes should be rinsed well in hot water and left to dry before putting away.
  3. Sponges
  4. When storing or using the kit, keep it in a cool place out of sunlight. Always make sure your materials and face paint containers are cleaned at the end of every session. Store your materials in a dry clean state with lids on all containers.
  5. should be washed well in hot soapy water and left to dry before putting away.
  6. Face paint which has been used for more than eighteen months should be discarded.
  7. Discard badly stained or damaged brushes and sponges.

SmilingEyes

Each morning as the dawn breaks, I am able to sit on my couch and watch as the sun hits the trees. This is the time of year that enforces to me that GOD is here, all around. I love the fall and the colors of fall. Many years ago I was having lunch with a friend at a State park near Charleston Illinois. After my friend left I remained and drank in all the color that surrounded me and felt very blessed that God shares this beauty with us. It amazes me that as each day breaks during the dark of the night God is busy adding more color to the trees across the lake from me. I have even observed several days, a young doe getting a drink from the lake amongst the color of the trees. Last week there was a mist over the lake and the doe appeared from the trees, now as a photographer why did I not have my camera handy? I suppose God wanted me to keep this lovely picture in my heart and I have!

Rural Chatter: Birds, Nature and Environment

often turn captured spiders out of my house...not just to save the spider, but also because it might make a meal for a bird. When I catch a mouse in a kill-trap (they tried to nest in my linen closet), I offer up the perfectly safe meal to the magpies who come to my yard; they swallow 'em in a single gulp! When my pond is finally built, I'll add some fish for color and my delight...but not Koi this time. Nope, I don't want to feel slighted when a bear or a raccoon or a snake make a meal of an expensive fish.

Friendship Flower Garden

Available in My Daily Painters Gallery

Friendship Flower Garden is my newest container garden, and is named in honor of my friends who suggested almost all of the flowers in the painting. I have really enjoyed connecting with so many artists through this blog and through Facebook, and it is a source of continuing encouragement and inspiration to hear from them and also to see what they are up to in their own studios. So this one's to you! Flowers for my friends, with much love, from Flower Mound Studio.
